SILVIA GIRARDI & MICHAEL SHIONO: Live Performance And Audio-Book CD Release Party!

An evening of music and spoken words to inspire performed by Mike Shiono, Silvia Girardi and Daniele Girardi! The trio’s selections offer guidance around the inner necessity of artistic creation, solitude, criticism, love, artistry, art and society. Original music and spoken words are woven together, creating an evocative soundscape for inspiration and spaciousness.
Mike Shiono is a freelance electric and upright bassist, music educator and composer living in Oakland, CA. He has recently performed with artists such as: Jennifer Holliday, Ce Ce Peniston and Patrice Rushen. Mike teaches at UC Berkeley via their Young Musician Program, and is also the bass player for Red Poppy favorites, La Gente.
Silvia Girardi is a performer and director from Verona. With more than 15 years of stage experience, directing, drama coaching in Italy and United States, she is currently collaborating with international artists on the production of original multi-disciplinary performances. She is excited to be back at the Red Poppy with a new work!
Daniele Girardi is a visual artist from Milan. His innovative experimentation marries traditional painting with digital research and has led to invitations from the critics to take part in numerous group and solo shows internationally.
