Caili O’Doherty Quartet: Cross-Cultural Contemporary Jazz Group

$15 – $20NYC-based pianist Caili O’Doherty brings her quartet to the Red Poppy for the first time, joined by two Bay Area natives. The performance includes original jazz compositions and arrangements from O’Doherty’s debut album, Padme, as well as new material being prepared for her next record.

ABOUT THE ARTIST:
Caili O’Doherty, a Portland native, has performed worldwide at jazz festivals and various venues in Toronto, Panama, Colombia, Ireland, Dominican Republic, Mexico, and throughout the U.S. She released her debut album, Padme, in 2015 and performed an extensive CD release tour on the West and East Coast with her NYC quartet. O’Doherty has received awards for her piano performance and compositions from DownBeat Magazine, as well as an ASCAP Foundation Young Jazz Composer Award. Since graduating from Berklee College of Music in 2013, she has embarked on a career to satisfy her equal passions for performing, composing, educating, and humanitarian work.
