$15 – $20An Evening with Yumi Tomsha, mezzo soprano
Mezzo soprano Yumi Tomsha gave her New York debut recital in 2008 at Bargemusic, the magical ‘floating concert hall.’ As an oratorio soloist, she has been featured in works including Bach’s St. John Passion and Mass in b minor, and Vivaldi’s third Dixit Dominus and Gloria. Yumi is currently working on a solo album that will include the premiere of a song cycle featuring poetry by Japanese and Japanese American women.
Yumi’s program at the Red Poppy Art House will include Japanese and Lithuanian folk songs, as well as music of Handel, Mozart, Bellini, and Rachmaninov.
