Ultra World X-Tet’s sound has been described as “psychedelic world jazz,” “world class,” and other colorful labels. Whatever you want to call it, this distinct San Francisco sound with a global music sensibility will transport you and fire your imagination. The band will perform a program designed especially for the intimate environment at Red Poppy, including selections from their recordings as well as brand new material.

ABOUT THE ARTIST:
Ultra World X-Tet’s latest album, Wise Dreams and Fables of the Sky, was a DownBeat Editors’ pick for June 2019. A three-time recipient of Zellerbach grants to present new works, the band’s previous releases include the album Moon and Legend and the live concert DVD Night Market.
