The Creak and John Steven Morgan: Original Indie Folk

$15 – $20Five-piece string band the Creak, who blend folk, pop, and Americana with intriguing songwriting, makes their Red Poppy debut with mostly original music from their latest release, You Got Eyes, as well as select covers. Joined by composer/pianist John Steven Morgan, the evening includes a hard-swinging rhythm section and memorable melodies, along with instrumental interplay honed on San Francisco’s vibrant street-corner busking circuit.

John Steven Morgan has performed at the 54th and 56th Monterey Jazz Festival, Monterey First City Festival, The Wattis Room at SF Davies Symphony Hall, and has also toured internationally. Along with composing and performing his solo piano pieces, he writes music for Wreche, an experimental black metal collaboration with drummer Barret Baumgart. John has scored various short films, most notably The Perfect Hello, by Oakland director/writer Zack Kasten (music co-written with Greg Ashley of The Gris Gris).
