SUMMARY:Arco Belo Ensemble: Chamber Jazz with Global Roots
DESCRIPTION:Arco Belo brings together elements of raw\, contemporary improvised music\, mixing in crisp\, through-composed pockets of sweeping dense harmony and a global rhythmic sensibility. At the Red Poppy\, the group promotes the release of the first single from its debut album\, The Space Between Disguises.\n \nFEATURING:\nSimone Baron – accordion\nLucas Ashby – percussion\nNelson Moneo – violin\nIan Ashby – bass\n \nABOUT THE ARTIST:\nArco Belo is an original chamber-jazz project led by pianist\, accordionist\, and composer Simone Baron\, featuring a rhythm section composed of brothers Lucas and Ian Ashby and Canadian multi-instrumentalist Nelson Moneo. The group skips effortlessly from long-form\, neo-baroque string counterpoint to sludgy hip-hop pads; post-romantic cadenzas collide in moments of spontaneous noise with reedy prepared piano; guttural bow noises and cascading plectrum bring color to plush hypnotic grooves and sharply angled linear phrases. \nLearn more: Facebook \n  \nEVENT DETAILS\n \nTime: 7:00pm doors / 7:30pm show\nAdmission: $15-20 sliding scale.
