StringQuake: Electric Harp Meets Cello & Percussion

$20 – $25Bay Area trio StringQuake uses unusual instrumentation–electric harp, cello, and percussion–to explore far-flung sounds inspired by Greece, India, Africa, and the Americas. With a penchant for improvisation and unexpected meters, the group boasts a wide-ranging repertoire that runs the gamut from contemplative to vigorous.
Featuring:
Amelia Romano – electric harp
Misha Khalikulov – cello
Josh Mellinger – cajón, tabla, frame drum
Composer/arranger Romano, Uzbek cellist/educator Khalikulov, and versatile percussionist Mellinger released their first album together, Take 15, in 2013. The trio, which has toured Mexico, performs extensively in the Bay Area.
