ABOUT THE ARTIST:
Simone Baron is a polyglot pianist, accordionist, improviser and composer whose work “ego-less, genre agnostic and without expectations” (JazzTimes) engages curiously and charismatically with a broad spectrum of idioms. A listener of sounds beneath, within and beyond, her music plays at the intersection of the familiar and the avant-garde. In 2016 Simone founded Arco Belo, a GenreFluid chamber ensemble. Simone is a Victoria Artist and plays a Poeta XB Accordion.
Alec Goldfarb is a Brooklyn based guitarist, composer, and Hindustani classical musician. Active in the NYC improvised and new music communities, his work explores musical traits as historical vestiges of migrations, colonialism, geographies, labor, ritual. He holds a masters degree from CUNY Brooklyn College and B.A.’s from the University of Illinois in Music Composition/Theory and Philosophy, and is currently on faculty at NYC Guitar School.
An eclectic blend of austere serenity and kinetic vibrancy, Amelia Romano takes what is known about conventional harp and surpasses every time. Pulling from her roots in the cultural hotbed of San Francisco, Amelia not only plays music from the repertoire but reprises them and creates originals. Latin American music, jazz and classical are all genres that she touches but her music defines its own path.
