Shadow Theater Performance and Hands-on shadow puppet workshop for Children and Families (FREE)
ShadowLight Productions artists Jessica Nguyen and Fred Riley will perform a shadow play based on a short story by children’s author Mo Williams and a short shadow play for a song by Charlotte Diamond.
The performance will then turn into a demonstration with an opportunity to see the behind the screen process of performing a shadow theater show with time to ask questions.
ShadowLight artists will lead participants in making a shadow puppet of their own and using it to tell a story or perform a song.
Performance screen, lights and puppet making materials and tools provided by ShadowLight Productions.

This event is free to the public.
This event is appropriate for children ages 3 to 12.
Admission on first come, first served basis.

ABOUT THE ARTIST:
ShadowLight was founded in 1972 by filmmaker/theatre director/shadow artist Larry Reed. We have served San Francisco as a non profit theater company for nearly 30 years.
The mission of ShadowLight Productions is to expose the general public to the art of Shadow Theater. The means of providing such exposure includes but is not limited to live theater, film and other media. We strive to preserve indigenous shadow theater traditions, and to explore and expand the possibilities of the shadow theater medium by creating innovative interdisciplinary, multicultural works.
