Sandy Cressman and Homenagem Brasileira: Brazilian Jazz Celebration

$15 – $20Homenagem Brasileira plays the full spectrum of Brazilian jazz, from Rio-based bossa nova and samba to baião and frevo from Brazil’s northeast. At their Red Poppy show, they’ll present music from classic composers like Jobim and Caymmi, as well as music from Cressman’s most recent album, Entre Amigos, which features collaborations with Jovino Santos Neto, Ian Faquini, Antonio Adolfo, Spok, and other contemporary composers.

Sandy Cressman is a San Francisco-based jazz vocalist whose passion for Brazilian music led her to form Homenagem Brasileira in 1998. She has toured the U.S., Europe, and Brazil, and she has released three critically acclaimed CDs: Homenagem Brasileira, Brasil-Sempre no Coração, and Entre Amigos. She will play Monterey Jazz Festival in September 2017.
