Roxy Coss: “Restless Idealism” CD Release Celebration

New York-based saxophonist Roxy Coss brings her feel-good take on contemporary jazz to the Red Poppy for an evening of selections from her latest album, Restless Idealism. Coss, a rising composer and experienced educator who’s considered one of the most innovative saxophonists of her generation, is credited with a sound that DownBeat calls “intelligent yet accessible.”

Originally from Seattle, Roxy Coss has performed extensively around the world with her own band and with Clark Terry, Louis Hayes, the Diva Jazz Orchestra, and the Mingus Big Band. In 2016, she was the recipient of the ASCAP Herb Alpert Young Jazz Composer Award. Her sophomore album, Restless Idealism, has been met with critical acclaim.
