Rebecca Kleinmann Ensemble: Brazilian & Latin Jazz

Rebecca Kleinmann presents an evening of Brazilian and Latin jazz including a special tribute to great flutist Dave Valentin who passed away last year. Kleinmann and fellow flutists unveil the world premiere of her arrangements for flute choir and rhythm section before performing at the National Flute Convention in Orlando.

ABOUT THE ARTIST:
Rebecca Kleinmann is an acclaimed flutist, singer, and composer with a professional career marked by diversity and improvisation. In the words of Latin Grammy-nominated pianist Jovino Santos Neto, “Rebecca plays flute with the passion of a flamenco dancer.” An explorer at heart, she rockets and flows between genres, leading her jazz quartet and performing in Brazilian choro and flamenco shows. Her international career has taken her to perform on stages in Brazil, Argentina, Europe, Africa, and Australia, as well as the SF Jazz Center, the San Jose Jazz Festival, Yoshi’s, and the Paramount Theatre in Oakland.
