A Folk Soloist on her African Girl, African Woman Summer Tour

The Red Poppy Art House is pleased to present “The Best Folk Singer” in Seattle as deemed by Seattle Weekly. Since Naomi’s appearance on the cover of Seattle Weekly, she’s teamed with the much-loved indie songwriter Damien Jurado to produce her debut album. When you listen to Naomi, you’ll hear the influence of two powerful, groundbreaking female songwriters: Miriam Makeba and Tracy Chapman. Naomi croons with a feminine mystique similar to that of India Arie, singing about the journey to follow one’s heart, with which every human can relate. Naomi’s songs, inspired both by the sounds she discovered in America and what she grew up with in Kenya, tell stories that are imbued with a sense of hopefulness.
