Monica María & Soul y Agua: Entre Tierra y Cielo

$10 – $25With influences of modern pop, R&B and folk, Monica María’s Soul y Agua reflects her Californian roots mixed with traditional, earthly and contemporary sounds of Latin America. Her compositions paint the portrait of a soul that illuminates the space around it with love, faith and warmth. Monica’s sound is both innovative and expressive of a world where cultures coexist, where fear is transformed by compassion, where we learn to truly love ourselves, and where we view the world from an empathetic and blissful state of mind.

Monica Fimbrez is a vocalist, multi-instrumentalist (guitarist, bassist, percussionist) and composer. She moved to San Francisco from her hometown of Lodi, CA, and graduated from San Francisco State University with a degree in vocal jazz and world music. She has been a member of various Bay Area bands such as Tarimba (son jarocho), Rumbaché (salsa & timba), Jesus Diaz y Su QBA (Cuban salsa/timba), The Hitsville Soul Sisters (motown), Santos Perdidos and Sol Tevél. Monica has also had the privilege of studying and performing with esteemed musicians including John Calloway, John Santos, Jesus Diaz, Michael Spiro, Sandy Perez, Anthony Blea, Andres Flores, Patricio Hidalgo and Liche Oseguera Rueda.
Admission: $10-25. Doors at 7:00pm. Show at 7:30pm. All ages welcome.
Tickets will not be sold in advance for this event. Please arrive at the Red Poppy when doors open to purchase tickets. No one will be turned away for lack of funds.
