Mónica María: Song Release Celebration, Son Jarocho, Zapateado Workshop

Come celebrate the release of Mónica María’s first single, “Levanta”! Presenting a set of her original music and a set of son jarocho with a special guest artist from Veracruz, the evening will begin with a zapateado workshop (at 7:00pm) taught by the guest artist and will end with a mini fandanguito. ¡Nos vemos!

ABOUT THE ARTIST:
Mónica María‘s music reflects her Californian roots mixed with traditional and contemporary sounds of Latin America. Her songs are innovative and expressive of a world where cultures coexist, where fear is transformed by compassion, where we learn to truly love ourselves, and where we view the world from an empathetic and holistic state of mind. A vocalist, multi-instrumentalist, and composer, she is a graduate of San Francisco State University who has spent more than half her life writing songs and performing various genres such as son cubano, salsa, son jarocho, cumbia, jazz, and R&B.
