$15 – $25On the heels of a celebrated new album, acclaimed saxophonist/composer Michael Zilber brings in some of his favorite musicians (and some of the Bay’s very best) for an evening of modern acoustic jazz steeped in the tradition of John Coltrane and Wayne Shorter but firmly in the present, too.

Peter Barshay – bass
Jason Lewis – drums
Bay Area-based saxophonist and composer Michael Zilber has been described by NEA Jazz Master David Liebman as “one of the best players and composers around anywhere. Period!” The Canadian-born ex-New Yorker has 11 albums to his name as a leader or co-leader, and he has performed or recorded with everyone, from Liebman and Miroslav Vitous to Mike Clark, Dizzy Gillespie, and Bob Berg. His current project, Originals for the Originals, was hailed by Jazz DJ Brad Stone as “one of the premier releases of all time on Origin Records.”
