Maria Morrell, Stina Da Silva, & Maria Machetes: Songstress Salon

$10 – $20The Songstress Salon features original music of three powerful enigmatic Bay Area singer-songwriters. These three ladies recently performed at the de Young museum as part of the Artist Fellows program.
Maria Morrell is an artist who writes her songs with an empathic flair for life’s joys and pains. Her folk and soul influenced music gives way for an unpretentious, reminiscent experience. She is also one of the lead singers for the group Pop Fiction and performs all over the West coast.
Stina da Silva is a soulful songstress whose lyrics and melodies are passionate and sometimes quirky. She incorporates a variety of styles and languages into her music but her main influence is rooted in blues and folk. Stina is a performer and educator based in the Bay Area.
Maria Machetes is a singer songwriter, poet, community educator and activist. Her music is rooted in Latin American traditions and addresses everything from poetry to politics. She describes her music as “Traditional Fusion Tropical Pop”
