ABOUT THE ARTIST:
Lucia Lilikoi is a Spanish singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and educator living in the Bay Area. Currently working on material for her fourth record, the songs are a counterpoint to her last album, Vessel, an exploration of our relationship to water. Her soulful and ethereal voice allures the listener into a translucent and strangely familiar world in a genre she calls “dream folk.” Over the years, she has collaborated with Julie Wolf (Ani Difranco, Joan Baez, Sia), Grammy-winning producer Malcolm Burn (Bob Dylan, Jeff Buckley, Emmylou Harris), Joey Maramba (Rickie Lee Jones, John Cale), and most recently with Jai Uttal. Lilikoi’s song “One Hand to the Sun” was part of a Kirtan Aid collection alongside Rising Appalachia, Tina Malia, and Deva Premal. Her songs have been featured on shows like The L Word, and she has composed original scores for documentary films featuring luminaries like Buddhist ecologist Joanna Macy.
