ABOUT THE ARTIST:
David James is a San Francisco-born composer, guitarist, vocalist, and bandleader who draws from his years of experience in hip-hop, film and theater scores, afrobeat, and more, bringing these influences to bear in his “ … thoughtfully composed, boundary-blurring new music.” (All About Jazz).
Beth Custer is an Emmy Award-winning, San Francisco-based composer, performer, recording artist, bandleader, and the proprietor of BC Records and All Hands on Deck Publishing. She has recordings out with ensembles The Beth Custer Ensemble, Eighty Mile Beach, Clarinet Thing, Trance Mission, Club Foot Orchestra, and her latest ensemble Russian Telegraph.
Jess Ivry is a San Francisco Conservatory of Music trained cellist and singer who studied with Bonnie Hampton and plays various genres including Balkan, Klezmer, Bluegrass, Jazz, and Pop. From 2004-2015 she played, sang, co-managed, and promoted Real Vocal String Quartet, a world music string & vocal ensemble that pushed the string quartet boundaries.
