David Tanenbaum Presents: Jon Mendle: 19th Century Virtuoso Guitar

$15 – $20Curated by classical guitarist David Tanenbaum, Jon Mendle is set to perform a repertoire of both forgotten gems and well-known concert works from the 19th century on original and reproduction 19th century guitars. The program will include works by Antoine de L’Hoyer, Napoléon Coste, Felix Horetzky, Giulio Regondi, and Johann Kaspar Mertz and will be performed in period-appropriate dress.
Jon Mendle made his Carnegie Hall debut at the age of 19. He received his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from the San Francisco Conservatory of Music where his teachers included David Tanenbaum, Lawrence Ferrara, Marc Teicholz, Dusan Bogdanovic, and Sergio Assad. Jon has performed throughout North America and Germany and has toured with Yo-Yo Ma and the Silk Road Ensemble. Released in January 2011 on In A Circle Records, his first album, L’infidele, was produced by his teacher and Latin Grammy-winner Sergio Assad.
