Gonzalo Bergara Quartet

Playing a modern variant of 1930s Reinhardt inspired gypsy jazz, composer and lead guitarist Bergara mixes a cascade of arpeggios with the sounds of Paris and his native Argentina. Influenced by the Hot Club of France, his new CD Porteña Soledad was editor’s Pick on Guitar Player Magazine, and Vintage Guitar Magazine called it a Masterpiece. Lavishing care on every phrase, he builds “each arrangement with such lapidary precision and pared away anything extraneous, the music becomes sculpture.”
