Daniel Masson Presents: George Méliès’ The Impossible Voyage

January 29, 2012 @ 6:30 pm - 9:00 pm

$10 – $15

voyage1

Known for his musical contribution to the hugely popular compilations of Buddha Bar, French artist Daniel Masson has made a career of crossing musical and technical boundaries, establishing himself as one of the names in Electro World-chillout music. As an independent composer, studio producer and guitarist, he has generated his own unique style in the electronic scene.

During summer 2011 Masson composed an original electronic score for George Méliès’ 1904 silent film “The Impossible Voyage,” giving the classic new life in a new location. Presented by the French Embassy and the French Institute of Seoul, South Korea, Masson played the new composition live at the Busan International Film Festival this past fall.

Channelling Méliès’ sense of innovation and experimentation with early cinema, at the Red Poppy Art House Masson will begin with an electronic “chillout” mix of recent work and afterward provide a rendition of his Méliès “cinemix” with a screening of The Impossible Voyage. This original performance is not be missed!
