Claudio Santome & The View From Bernal Hill

Claudio Santome is a musician with diverse experience in both classical and popular music. He has performed Italian, German French, and Spanish operas. Claudio has sung with Ariel Ramirez’s Misa Criolla in and toured with J.P Gaffney in Swizterland and Italy. His vast vocal range has allowed him to sing Orff’s Carmina Burana with Berkeley’s Community Chorus both in baritone and tenor as well as Verdi’s Traviata and Macbeth Puccini’s Tosca with other local companies. Claudio is now exploring the roots of Argentine tango singing with San Francisco’s Redwood Tango Ensemble and pianist Joshua Brody. Claudio also performs Argentine classics by composers Guastavino and Ginastera with pianist Adria Borcea and Nahuel Bronzini on guitar. He also teaches vocal technique and coaches Spanish repertoire in Teobi Art Studio in San Francisco advising gifted local singers
The View from Bernal Hill consists of French-American songwriter and pianist Camille Mai, guitarist Nahuel Bronzini, and bassist Schuyler Karr. Based in San Francisco, their music encompasses jazz, indie, and classical styles as well as harmonic and rhythmic experimentations. Their first EP as a group, “No Beautiful Children,” was recorded and mixed independently at the SF Conservatory and released September 1st, 2013. Together with classical singer Claudio Santome, the concert will be a melting pot of musical genres: jazz mixed in with some Spanish and Italian opera; Argentine Tango Piazzolla right in between some Berstein and Mahler.
