Clattering Loom is a themed reading co-curated by Valerie Chavez and Jonathan Hirsch that asks its participants to explore a word or phrase from another language that doesn’t quite translate into English. The German word ‘Torschlusspanik’ translates literally as ‘gate-closing panic’ and refers to the sense that opportunities diminish as one ages.
