Citizens Jazz: Representing Charles Mingus

Lead by bassist Caroline Chung, an integral part of the jazz community and musicians’ rights activist, Citizens Jazz is a collective of some of the most talented in Bay Area jazz. This evening Citizens Jazz will educate you on the music of Charles Mingus. Mingus has influenced the jazz world in so many ways, through his deep soulful compositions, his outspoken political views, and his legendary musicianship. This special night will be in honor of Citizen Charles Mingus.
Caroline Chung (upright bass), Danny Brown (tenor saxophone), Danny Grewan (trombone), Gregory Chen (piano), Scott Lowrie (drums) Allegra Bandy (special guest vocalist).
$10-$15 admission. Doors at 8:30 pm. Show at 9:00 pm.
