Circadian String Quartet: Songs in the Key of Home
September 15, 2017 @ 7:30 pm - 10:00 pm
$15 – $20Using string quartets by Antonin Dvorak, Sahba Aminikia, and Philip Glass, Bay Area-based Circadian String Quartet makes its Red Poppy debut with a program that delves into three different ways of experiencing home: Coming home, paying tribute to home, or watching with alarm as a homeland erupts in strife and division.
Featuring:
Sarah Wood – violin
David Ryther – violin
Omid Assadi – viola
David Wishnia – cello
Circadian String Quartet was founded in 2013 to perform classical and contemporary string quartet repertoire, especially music of folkloric and cultural significance. Since then, the group has been featured by many of Northern California’s presenting organizations. CSQ is proud to have given world and U.S. premieres of exciting new pieces of chamber music, a result of working closely with several living composers, including Sahba Aminikia, Ben Carson, Toronto-based Noam Lemish, and British composer Ian Venables.
