On the first Saturday of every even month of the year\, the MAPP transforms ordinary spaces\, such as private garages\, gardens\, living rooms\, studios\, street corners\, and small businesses into pop-up performance and exhibition sites for a day/night of intimate-scale artistic and cultural exchange among a kaleidoscope of individuals and communities.  \nRED POPPY MAPP TEAM: \nArtistic Director | Managing Director: Dina Zarif \nContent manager: Jennie Legary\nHost: Verda Bursal \nABOUT THE PERFORMING ARTISTS\n\nLatin Rhythms United\nsounds of South America and the Caribbean \nFeaturing: \nJackeline Rago – Venezuelan Cuatro\, mandolin\, percussion and vocals\nAlejo Cordero – Bandola Llanera\, Cuatro\nSpecial guest Anna Maria Violich-Olivier- vocals  \nLatin Rhythms United returns to the Red Poppy!\nJoin us for a vibrant journey through the sounds of South America and the Caribbean—from the driving grooves of joropo and porro to the soulful storytelling of tonada llanera\, tango\, and beyond. \n\nMamboleo\nJazz/Latin Jazz\nFeaturing:\nAmaru Durán – Percussion\nSantiago Winton – Piano\nSai Ray – Trumpet \nMateo Siguenza – Bass   \nMamboleo is a band of young musicians from across the Bay Area. They mix the fire of traditional Cuban rhythms with the adventure of modern jazz\, and the sound is all their own. Based in San Francisco\, they play regularly with the Mission Arts Performance Project\, have performed at Bird & Beckett and Brick & Mortar\, and have shared the stage with artists like La Doña. Their set moves through Cuban standards\, jazz classics and their own original music. It’s music handed down and made new by a new generation. \n\n\n \n\n\nThe Soapbox Salute “Participating artist in Fall of Freedom.”\nFolk\, Soul\, Protest: Anti-racist folk in solidarity with working-class folks \nTimothy Goodspeed – vocals\, guitar\, and suitcase drum\nAriel Bowser – vocals\nPierre Jauretche – bass guitar \nThe Soapbox Salute presents protest songs that confront many of the urgent issues facing our world\, from police violence and the military-industrial complex to houselessness and immigrant rights. Yet the music is more than protest; it is a vehicle for creating a sacred space where we can dare to imagine a better future in which all people can live with dignity and abundance.\nRooted in folk music and drawing from soul\, rock ’n’ roll\, and the blues\, the songs offer a melodic and dynamic call for freedom\, featuring stunning harmonies by Ariel Bowser and compelling bass by Pierre Jauretche. Songwriter Timothy Goodspeed\, a teacher and father\, leads the project on vocals\, guitar\, and suitcase drum set.\nGoodspeed founded The Soapbox Salute as a way to advocate for oppressed people around the world and inspire the possibility of a more just future for all. \n\n\nPreview the Artists\n  \nMAPP GENERAL PROGRAM\nJoin us in MAPP at all other spaces throughout the Mission District. \n\n  \n\nIN PERSON EVENT DETAILS\nTime: October 3rd\, 2026\, 7pm- 10pm (IN-PERSON) \nAdmission: Free! \n\n \n  \nBECOME A PATRON
