Poet\, essayist\, and translator. Director of the Department of Modern Languages ​​at Laney College. Specialist in Latin American and Chicano literature. Among his poetry books\, we have: “La ciudad dormida (1995)\, “Catulinarias” (1998)\, “Poemas para ser leídos en el metro” (2003) y “Tantos troncos truncos” (2020).(1995)\, “Catulinarias” (1998). Winner of several poetry awards including the “Juan Ramón Jiménez” of Huelva\, Spain\, 2003. \nRoger Santiváñez was born in Piura\, northern coast of Peru. Ph.D. in poetry from Temple University. He has recently published “Santa Rosa de Lima. Poema sacro en 31 silvas” (México 2021 y Lima 2022). “Entre el paraíso y el infierno” (2023) y un redición de “El chico que se declaraba con la mirada” (2023). He lives on the banks of the Cooper River\, completely dedicated to contemplation\, writing\, and the study of the languages ​​of poetry. \nAdrian Arias is an international multidisciplinary artist working at the intersection of poetry\, visual arts\, performance\, and social justice. A descendant of the Mochica culture of ancient Peru\, he embraces his culture’s use of dreams as a transformative catalyst between reality and imagination. This ancestral knowledge is used to connect artists and communities in collaborations that speak to equality\, liberation\, peace and beauty. He believes that creation goes beyond the result: that the fantastic is always written in the creative act. He is the winner of the APJ poetry Biennial in Peru\, with his book " Sueños y Paranoias; published by Peisa\, in addition to having obtained the third COPE prize with his futurist poetry book “26\,-10-2028”; and an honorary mention with his book Divine Punishment.He was the founder of the Pan Integral poetry group in Lima in the 80s and has won the award for best poet at the Poetic Nights of Struga\, Macedonia. His poetry has been widely anthologized in San Francisco\, California\, alongside poets such as Lawrence Ferlinghetti\, Jack Hirschman\, Kim Shuck\, Nina Serrano\, and others. As a visual artist\, Arias has created large-scale murals for public and private businesses such as Google and a three-story mural at the corner of Turk and Hyde in San Francisco\, commissioned by the Luggage Store. He has recently created murals for Magic Theater\, Clarion Alley\, and Freight & Salvage. As co-founder of Mission Arts Performance Project MAPP\, he conceptualizes and creates multi-sensory art experiences such as VideoFest\, Luna Negra\, and ILLUSION show. His most ambitious project to date is Tarot in Pandemic & Revolution\, a multifaceted collaboration conceived and orchestrated by Arias where he engaged sixty-two visual artists and poets from the Bay Area in the creation of a community tarot deck that speaks to historic events that transpired over the pandemic. Published by Nomadic Press and released at CAST in San Francisco where Arias serves as the inaugural artist-in-residence. \nJosé Antonio Galloso was born in Lima\, Perú. Writer\, visual artist\, and educator. Master in Literary Creation with Grupo Planeta. He has published books of poetry\, visual poetry\, and fiction. His books “Tres Días para Mateo” (1999)\, “El Mal Viaje” (2007)\, “Adiós al Barrio” (2009) and “Lima Mala” (2010)\, are part of Loqueleo\, a project by Santillana that connect 22 countries. His written work has been included in several anthologies of peruvian literature such as “La mala nota\, el colegio en el cuento peruano” (2008)\, “El cuento peruano 2001-2010” (2013)\, y “Alma\, corazón y vida\, antología peruana de cuentos de amor” (2017). His visual work has been shown in different exhibits such as the “First Visual Poetry and Performance Festival” (Mission Cultural Center\, San Francisco\, 2009); “Diary of a Revolution” (La Peña Cultural Center\, Berkeley 2012); and “Respeto” (RAMP Gallery at SOMARTS\, San Francisco 2015). He was part of the “Tarot in Pandemic & Revolution” a multifaceted collaboration that engaged sixty two visual artists and poets from the Bay Area in the creation of a community tarot deck that speaks to historic events that transpired over the pandemic.
