DESCRIPTION:  \nRed Poppy Art House presents Tango No. 9 in Tango for the Heart\, the romance and heat of tango on a cold winter evening\, Saturday December 15 at 8 pm. Escape the chill of winter and come bask in the warm embrace of Tango No. 9. Presenting music old and new\, Tango No. 9 embarks on an exciting musical adventure\, borrowing from the rich tango tapestry\, beginning with the tango nuevo of Astor Piazzolla\, turning to the romance and tragedy of classic tango\, adding a touch of Kurt Weill\, a dash of humor and a pinch of West Coast modernism. \n  \nWhat better way to spend the last Saturday before the winter solstice? \n  \nTango No. 9\, born in the Mission District in 1988\, began by exploring where Piazzolla and jazz met. Today\, it has become an all-star Bay Area ensemble\, recognizable by its unique instrumentation of violin\, trombone\, piano\, and voice.
