$10 – $15Nuyorican poet/cultural worker Sandra Garcia Rivera joins the Grammy-winning musicians and educators of Brian Andres’ Afro-Cuban Jazz Cartel for a special performance of original compositions and exciting arrangements of Cuban, Puerto Rican, Mexican, and U.S. classics.

Inspired by the Bay Area’s deep Latin jazz heritage, the Afro-Cuban Jazz Cartel features Grammy-winning musicians and esteemed music educators who boast a deep repertoire of originals and standards. Leader Brian Andres also offers lectures and workshops in Afro-Cuban and pan-Caribbean music.
Bay Area-based Nuyorican poet and cultural worker Sandra Garcia Rivera teaches creative writing, hosts a monthly literary series, and performs with Latin/Caribbean ensembles.
