Brian Andres returns to the Red Poppy to present original compositions and arrangements of classic jazz and Latin standards.

ABOUT THE ARTISTS:
Drummer Brian Andres leads the Latin jazz group the Afro-Cuban Jazz Cartel. The nucleus of that ensemble is the trio, featuring Grammy Award-winning musicians Christian Tumalan on piano and David Pinto on bass. As they have with the larger ensemble, the trio exerts a firm grip on the music’s cutting edge, playing with confidence, poise, and rhythmic imagination. Tumalan also co-leads the Pacific Mambo Orchestra, and Pinto was the music director for Peruvian songstress Susana Baca prior to relocating to the San Francisco Bay Area.
