Julio Lemos, works as a 7-string guitarist, performing in the field of Brazilian instrumental music. He presents a virtuosity derived from his base as a Brazilian classical guitar concert artist, under the influence of the composers Villa-Lobos and Radamés Gnatalli, added to his training in the “Rodas de Choro”. He is a specialist in the language of choro and samba accompaniment from the 7-string guitar, with Dino 7 strings and Rafael Rabelo as his main references, adding to their influences from the guitar of Baden Powell and Marco Pereira in the samba-jazz style.

Originally from Rio de Janeiro and based in the Bay Area, guitarist/composer Ricardo Peixoto is among the top representatives of Brazilian guitar in the US, with a fluid melodic style and a keen compositional sense. His approach is grounded both in the jazz and Brazilian music traditions, but ventures well beyond their borders, combining rich melodies and sophisticated harmonies with the rhythms of Brazil. Peixoto has recorded and performed with, among others, Flora Purim and Airto, Claudia Villela, Dom Um Romão, Toots Thielemans, Dori Caymmi, Guinga, Sivuca, Paul McCandless, and Terra Sul.
