Dynamic world music and jazz with Mediterranean Future Folk taste
Drawing on her unique Adriatic heritage as well as her command of Brazilian music and jazz, Croatian vocalist Astrid Kuljanic will present a diverse evening of global music. With her critically acclaimed band featuring accordionist Ben Rosenblum and bassist Mat Muntz, Astrid will sing traditional, popular, and original songs in a range of styles and languages propelled by a focus on spontaneous interaction and interpretive flexibility.

ABOUT THE ARTIST:
“Renowned for her complex musical sensibility, Croatian vocalist Astrid Kuljanic has immersed herself in an eclectic variety of musical traditions from around the world. Her journey from the Balkans to New York has allowed her to absorb Jazz and Brazilian music and acquire proficiency in electronic performance using Ableton Live.
With her band, Astrid has performed at festivals and venues across Europe and the USA including Carnegie Hall, Jazz Standard, The Kennedy Center, and Earshot Jazz. As a collaborator, in 2020 she was a part of Thana Alexa’s album ONA, which was nominated for Grammy for Best Vocal Jazz Album.”
