They create an intoxicating blend through intertwining melodic grooves\, spirited improvisation\, and songs in two languages.\n \nFEATURING:\nMamadou Sidibe – kamale ngoni\nWalter Strauss – guitar\n \nABOUT THE ARTISTS:\nMulti-award-winning composer and musician Mamadou Sidibe plays the West African hunter’s harp (kamale ngoni). Hailing from the Wassoulou region of Mali\, West Africa\, Sidibe has toured with Malian greats Oumou Sangare\, Coumba Sidibe\, and Toumani Diabate in Africa\, Europe\, and the U.S. \nWalter Strauss is a “wizard of the fingerstyle guitar” (Folk and Roots) who weaves elements of American roots and jazz with music from West Africa and other global music traditions. He layers on highly articulated melodies and harmonies\, rhythms and counter-rhythms\, creating an impression he is playing multiple instruments at once.
