DESCRIPTION:Flutist Rebecca Kleinmann celebrates her birthday by inviting Brazil in Trio directly from Goiania\, Brazil. The trio presents their dynamic music ranging from choro and baião to originals.\n \nFEATURING:\nRebecca Kleinmann – flutes\, vocals\nJulio Lemos – guitar\nEverton Luiz – clarinet\, flute\, soprano saxophone\nDiego Amaral – percussion\n \nABOUT THE ARTISTS:\nBrazil in Trio creates fresh arrangements of traditional and modern Brazilian music with their dynamic guitar\, wind\, and percussion instrumentation. The three members are all graduates and now music teachers at the Federal University of Goiás. They have performed with Brazilian greats including Yamandu Costa and Hamilton de Holanda. The group helped found the Brazilian instrumental music festival Goiânia Revives the Choro. \nRebecca Kleinmann is an acclaimed flutist\, singer\, and composer with a professional career marked by diversity and improvisation. In the words of Latin Grammy-nominated pianist Jovino Santos Neto\, “Rebecca plays flute with the passion of a flamenco dancer.” An explorer at heart\, she rockets and flows between genres\, leading her jazz quartet and performing in Brazilian choro and flamenco shows. Her international career has taken her to perform on stages in Brazil\, Argentina\, Europe\, Africa\, and Australia\, as well as the SF Jazz Center\, the San Jose Jazz Festival\, Yoshi’s\, and the Paramount Theatre in Oakland.\n  \n \n \n  \nEVENT DETAILS\n \nTime: 7:00pm doors / 7:30pm show\nAdmission: $20-25 sliding scale.
