SUMMARY:Andrea Guskin: "A Temporary Collection (of An Ordinary Bloodline)" Artist Reception
DESCRIPTION:A Temporary Collection (of An Ordinary Bloodline)\, Andrea Guskin’s first exhibition at the Red Poppy Art House\, establishes an open dialogue with the fragmented histories of immigrants\, refugees\, and ordinary citizens. When persecution’s targets change and crises appear in other forms\, it is essential to preserve the thread of our history if we want to build a more aware future. Guskin preserves those threads through a collection of photos and ubiquitous objects mapping a history of missed meetings\, dreams\, and unfathomable mysteries that connect the individual to humanity; she questions herself about the past and the possibilities of what exists outside of what we see. The result of this line of questions? Answers in the form of delicate (albeit penetrating) images. \nEach of us carries fragments of the antique\, unknown\, extraordinary history in our blood. Andrea Guskin has found the way to recover her own fragments and give them new light. \nLearn more: Website\n  \nEVENT DETAILS\n \nTime: Event 6:00PM\nAdmission: Free\nAll ages are welcome. \nJoin the conversation at the Poppy – volunteer for this event!\n\n
