DESCRIPTION:The Red Poppy is proud to present an evening of works by four masterful composer/improvisers\, each of whom has developed original concepts towards creative music\, informed through a lifetime of exploration and reaching beyond an array of musical traditions. \nFeaturing:\nHafez Modirzadeh – saxophones\nMark Dresser – bass\nDiane Moser – piano\nVijay Anderson – drums \nMark Dresser is a Grammy-nominated\, internationally renowned bass player\, improviser\, composer\, and interdisciplinary collaborator. \nDiane Moser has been a featured performer and composer throughout the U.S. with jazz ensembles\, big bands\, orchestras\, chamber music ensembles\, dance companies\, and theater companies. \nVijay Anderson is a freelance drummer\, bandleader\, composer\, and teacher who lives and works in Oakland\, California. \nSaxophonist/theorist Hafez Modirzadeh has performed\, recorded\, published and lectured internationally on original cross-cultural musical concepts.\n  \nEVENT DETAILS\n \nTime: Doors 7:00PM / Show 7:30PM\nAdmission: $20-25 sliding scale\nTickets will not be sold in advance for this event – please arrive at the Red Poppy when doors open to purchase tickets.
