DESCRIPTION:This all-star lineup of some of the Bay Area’s best female musicians will pay tribute to the history of jazz\, from old-time blues\, 1930s and ’40s tangos\, choros\, valse-musettes\, and swing to ’50s and ’60s bebop and ending with a special\, contemporary approach on traditional jazz favorites. \nFeaturing:\nKally Price – vocals\nGabi Cavassa – vocals\nCaroline Chung – upright bass\nAmina Michele Scott – upright bass\nJenelle Roccaforte – upright bass\nGaea Schell – piano\nElektra Schmidt – piano\nRuth Price – drums\nHannah Glass – violin\nEli Maliwan – saxophones \nCitizens Jazz\, a collective led by bassist Caroline Chung\, features combos of both up-and-coming and veteran musicians\, all of whom maintain busy professional schedules in swing\, bebop\, blues\, Latin\, and soul groups around town.\n  \nEVENT DETAILS\n \nTime: Doors 7:00PM / Show 7:30PM\nAdmission: $10-20 sliding scale\nTickets will not be sold in advance for this event – please arrive at the Red Poppy when doors open to purchase tickets.
