SUMMARY:Willow Steps: Indie Folk Pop
DESCRIPTION:With simple song structures and catchy melodies\, Willow Steps features folky tunes of love and heartbreak by singer/songwriter Jesse Strickman and vocalist Leiya Mahoney. The duo’s introspective harmonies are accompanied by upright bassist Schuyler Karr for the celebration of their new community-funded EP\, A Truth Too Big to See. Opening the evening is an acoustic set by eclectic Nevada City songwriters Cactus Cult. \nFeaturing:\nJesse Strickman – vocals\, acoustic guitar\nLeiya Mahoney – vocals\, various instruments\nSchuyler Karr – bass \nOakland-based indie-folk duo Jesse and Leiya\, best friends and fellow music lovers\, launched Willow Steps in 2015 after years of collaborating onstage. Both seasoned musicians\, Mahoney has founded a kirtan group and performed in choirs and bands\, while Strickman has opened for Damien Jurado\, Cake\, and Jay Brannan. \nPhoto by Paul Maguire\n \n \n\nAdmission: $10-15. Doors at 7:00pm. Show at 7:30pm. All ages welcome. \nTickets will not be sold in advance for this event.
