DESCRIPTION:From dual vocals to ambient soundscapes\, Planes on Paper join Ghost Town Jenny for an evening of cinematic folk with a dark side of country and soul. \nThrough the vocal synergy of Navid Eliot and Jen Borst\, the two core members of Planes on Paper\, a special kind of musical beauty emerges. The Washington-based folk group combines Navid and Jen’s intricate vocal harmonies with instrumental landscapes of acoustic and pedal steel guitars\, percussion\, bass\, drums\, and horns. Their latest EP\, The Ruins\, was released in January 2015 to rave reviews and a great deal of attention throughout the Pacific Northwest. \nGhost Town Jenny began as the solo project of singer/songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Kim Kylland. Currently residing in Northern California\, Kylland grew up splitting time between California and Norway\, eventually spending her formative years as a songwriter and performer in Dublin\, Ireland and later Reykjavik\, Iceland. Ghost Town Jenny’s music has drawn comparisons to the likes of Florence + The Machine\, Bjork\, June Carter Cash and Andrew Bird\, though the group cultivates their own sound through a combination of Kim’s hauntingly powerful voice\, brooding soundscapes and remarkable string arrangements.
