DESCRIPTION:On tour promoting their upcoming release\, Altered Narratives\, The Danny Green Trio brings together elements of Brazilian\, jazz\, and classical music. \nA rising creative force on the national jazz scene\, pianist/composer Danny Green has distinguished himself with his beautifully articulated touch and deep affinity for Brazilian music. The San Diego native has wowed critics and audiences alike with a growing portfolio of fresh and engaging jazz piano melodies. His trio\, featuring bassist Justin Grinnell and drummer Julien Cantelm\, recorded their latest album at New York City’s famed Sear Sound studio with award-winning producer Matt Pierson. Consisting of eleven original compositions by Green\, Altered Narratives is set to be released in March 2016 on OA2 Records. The trio’s 2014 album\, After the Calm\, recently won Best Jazz Album at the San Diego Music Awards and was nominated for Album of the Year. \nFeaturing:\nDanny Green – piano\nJustin Grinnell – bass\nJulien Cantelm – drums\n \n“From zigzagging\, post-bop romps\, lush ballads and urbane blues to Argentine tango and Brazilian choro\, Green and his trio(space)perform with poise and verve.” – San Diego Union-Tribune \nFollow Danny on Facebook and YouTube. \n\nAdmission: $12.
