SUMMARY:BOLO: Global Groove
DESCRIPTION:Joining together rhythms and instruments from many lands\, BOLO uplifts audiences with their sacred folk songs and danceable grooves. \nBOLO is comprised of Eliyahu Sills (of Qadim Ensemble)\, Evan Fraser (of Dirtwire)\, and Surya Prakasha (of Lavay Smith and Her Red Hot Skillet Lickers). With elements of jazz and influences from Africa\, India\, and the Middle East\, the trio incorporates a diversity of instrumentation ranging from flutes\, strings\, and percussion. \nFeaturing:\nEliyahu Sills – Indian & Middle Eastern flutes (bansuri\, ney)\, bass\, oud\, vocal\nEvan Fraser – ngoni\, kalimba\, percussion\, vocals\nSurya Prakasha – drums\, harmonium\, vocals\n \nDive into BOLO’s music on Facebook and Bandcamp. \nPC: BOLO \n\nAdmission: $15-20. Doors at 7:00pm. Show at 7:30pm. All ages welcome. \nTickets will not be sold in advance for this event. Please arrive at the Red Poppy when doors open to purchase tickets.
