SUMMARY:Latin Jazz Youth Ensemble of San Francisco: The Next Generation of Latin Jazz Artists
DESCRIPTION:Performing Latin jazz classics and original compositions\, the Latin Jazz Youth Ensemble of San Francisco (LJYE) is comprised of talented musicians ages 10 to 18. The mission of LJYE is to preserve the traditions of Latin jazz and to create role models for aspiring student musicians. The group has recorded three CDs with original material composed by the students themselves\, including LJYE Live at Yoshi’s (2005)\, Generaciones (2009)\, and Con Mis Manos (2015).\n\n\n“Far from a kiddie show\, this group of young musicians\, who range in age from 10 to 18 years old\, display a serious professionalism.” – Mary Ellen Hunt\, San Francisco Chronicle \n\nFollow LJYE on Facebook.\n\n \nPC: LJYE\n\n\n\nAdmission: $10-20. Doors at 7:00pm. Show at 7:30pm. All ages welcome.\n\n \nTickets will not be sold in advance for this event. Please arrive at the Red Poppy when doors open to purchase tickets.
