DESCRIPTION:The Red Poppy Art House is pleased to welcome Glenda Bates presenting Oboe-Tronics. An oboist for the contemporary world\, Glenda Bates delves into the world of 21st century classical music. Glenda Bates’ Oboe-Tronics features contemporary solo and electro-acoustic works for the oboe and English horn. The program presents the oboe\, an archaic instrument\, as a beacon of virtuosity and timbral expression for present-day composers. Bates explores various types of contemporary classical music\, from tonal minimalism and neo-romanticism to crooked atonal melodies and thumping electronic grooves.\n\n \nFeaturing:\nGlenda Bates – oboe\, Baroque oboe\, and English horn\n \n\nGet a feel for Glenda Bates’ Oboe-Tronics on Facebook and Soundcloud. \n\nAdmission: $10-15.
