DESCRIPTION:“[Amy LaCour’s] husky\, soulful vocals\, as full-bodied as a fine wine\, ache with a heartbreak fusion of fortitude and vulnerability\, bringing to mind other great singers to whose league she belongs\, from Lady Day and Etta James through Fiona Apple and Norah Jones….  LaCour’s songs are mostly mid-tempo ballads of deep soul and jazzy melodic sweetness wed to poetic lyrics of sorrow and triumph.” -Paul Zollo\, American Songwriter \nDescribed by Urban Network as “a thinking woman’s cross between Bill Withers and Norah Jones\,” vocalist and songwriter\, Amy LaCour\, began collaborating with Bay Area cellist\, Misha Khalikulov late last year. The duo quickly discovered a musical chemistry. Khalikulov brings years of classical training and improvisational experience to LaCour’s blues and folk-based songwriting.The result is a spare and intimate setting that highlights musicianship\, voice\, and song.
