SUMMARY:Makrú: A Full Bodied Performance

Originally from Madrid and trained in Spanish art forms\, lead vocalist and composer\, Raúl Vargas\, first created a musical/circus/theater group called “La Malamaña” in 2006 – the first of its kind in San Francisco. The musical component of “La Malamaña” would eventually become “Makrú.” Since then\, their music is continually shaped by the other members diverse musical backgrounds: Uruguayan vocalist\, Martina Castro\, Cuban percussionist\, Anthony Jesus Sierra\, El Salvadorian bass player\, Vinicia Peñate\, flamenco guitarist\, Bob Sanders\, and French saxophonist\, Paul Bertin. Their lyrics\, sung in both Spanish and English\, bring reality\, fiction\, hope and joy together\, in hopes of spreading a sincere message of respect and love. Together with an infectious beat\, these sincere words will have your body and soul dancing to express their true inner joy! \nRaúl Vargas – Vocals and Cajón\nBob Sanders – Electric and flamenco Guitar\nVinicio Peñate – Bass\nAnthony Sierra – Percussion\nPaul Bertin  – Saxophone \nHear their music and find out more about Makrú on their website  and Facebook page. Join the official Facebook event. \nAdmission: $10-15.
