DESCRIPTION:Due to unforeseen circumstances\, tonight’s performance with The Beth Custer Ensemble is cancelled.  \nThe Beth Custer Ensemble is a veritable crème de la crème of Bay Area musicians and has been delighting audiences for fifteen years from across the US to abroad. On this night the ensemble will perform music from their vast repertoire and new tunes from their upcoming release ‘Aguaplano.’ Their unique blend of styles underscores the Beth Custer Ensemble’s lyrical depth and showcases recent projects including a commission by SF Cinematheque to compose and perform live scores from Alexandre Hammid’s films at SF MOMA as well as performing live for The Joe Goode Performance Group’s dance/theatre productions at Yerba Buena Center for the Arts. \nA set might include a funky political song followed by a lilting country waltz\, then an Afro-fusion odd-metered driving instrumental\, followed by a rock cover tune. \nFeaturing… \nBeth Custer – voice\, clarinets\, piano\nDavid James – voice\, guitar\nJan Jackson– drums\nDiana Mangano– voice\nChris Grady – trumpet\, percussion\nVicky Grossi – bass \nGet acquainted with the band here. \nAdmission: $15-20. Doors at 7:00pm. Show at 7:30pm. All ages welcome.\nTickets will not be sold in advance for this event. Please arrive at the Red Poppy when doors open to purchase tickets. \nWe are pleased to announce that we have begun some minor construction at the Poppy to make our space fully wheelchair accessible. Due to this work\, we will be having audiences enter through the main front doors rather than the side door entrance that we normally use.
