DESCRIPTION:Family Art takes place every Saturday afternoon.\n \nTime: 1pm-4pm \nMarch 29th – Marshmellow Spaghetti Geometry/ Formas Geometricas \nParticipants will explore the creation of two or three dimensional geometric shapes such as cubes\, squares\, or trapezoids. DESCRIPTION:A merging of classical and jazz with poetic undertones \nAfter 12 years of performances throughout the US\, Canada and South America\, Quijeremá returns to the Poppy for a night of retrospection and celebration\, featuring new work from their upcoming project “El Viaje/The Journey”. Their music features traditional instruments and vocal poetry to create a unique style that merges jazz\, classical and world idioms. Quijeremá is a 2012-13 California Arts Council grantee\, performs worldwide\, including special performances for the President of Chile\, the Cultural Diversity Festival in Venezuela\, and was a 2009 IDA nominee for best musical soundtrack for the PBS documentary “Archeology of Memory.” \n  \nQuique Cruz (Chile) – voice\, strings\, Andean wind instruments & percussion\nJeremy Allen (USA) – voice\, bass & percussion\nMaria Fernanda Acuña (Venezuela) –  voice\, percussion & Venezuelan cuatro\nShain Carrasco (USA) – Cello)\nJohn Calloway (USA) – piano\, flute & percussion) \n  \n “Using various methods of artistic expression\, Quijeremá is more than just a band. They are poets and multi-media designers.
