DESCRIPTION:Citizens Jazz Pays Tribute to great Brazilian Composers \n   \n  \nCitizens Jazz is a collective of some of the most talented and driving jazz musicians in the Bay Area. The group is led by bassist Caroline Chung who has been an integral part of the jazz community as a musician and activist bringing you quality music with her projects and collaborations.This evening Citizens Jazz will bring you the timeless music of Brazil\, performing pieces from some of their favorite composers. \n  \nThey will explore the rich diverse rhythms and melodies of this magical country from Samba\, Bossa Nova to Choro. This special night will be in honor of the beautiful musical influences from the great composers of Brazil. \n  \nCaroline Chung– upright bass\nZack Pitt-Smith– reeds\nQuebert Morrow– guitar\nSurya Prakasha– drums\nMiriam Speyer– special guest vocalist \n  \nCitizens Jazz on Myspace \n  \nAdmission $8-$12. Doors at 6:30 pm.
