DESCRIPTION:Classical Revolution presents chamber music performances in neighborhood venues all over the Bay Area featuring the best local and touring classical musicians. November marks the 5 year anniversary of Classical Rev\, with special events planned throughout the entire month \nWhere is the future of the string quartet heading?  The answer lies with Squid Inc.  Squid Inc. is a string quartet made up of some of the Bay Area’s fiercest string players and will open your ears as the world of popular music dances with classical tradition.  Squid Inc. is not just pushing the boundaries\, they are not even aware they exist.  You will hear original tunes by Squid Inc. and arrangements done in their own unique style – The Police a la Tango with a little Sibelius thrown in\, a habanera via Britney Spears\, and the ever-contemplative Radiohead.   SI members have played and recorded with Death Cab for Cutie\, Bjork\, Peter Gabriel\, Rosin Coven\, Jazz Mafia\, Third Eye Blind\, Amy X. Neuberg\, Nice Guy Trio and dozens more.  Recent collaborations include Opey Tha Poet from The Freeze\, singer songwriter Rachel Efron and Patrick de la Esperanza from Rosin Coven.  Also in the works is a song cycle with Carrie Katz and Laura Inserra involving the “hang” – a beautifully sonorous and melodic Swiss percussion instrument.  \nHrabba Atladottir – violin\nJory Fankuchen – violin/viola\nDarcy Rindt – viola\nBeth Vandervennet – cello \nwww.classicalrevolution.org \nwww.squidincstrings.com \n
